I have never used 15777 along with laparoscopic hysterectomy when Alloderm (or any other product) is used to prevent adhesions.
15777 Implantation of biologic implant (eg, acellular dermal matrix)
for soft tissue reinforcement (ie, breast, trunk)
The Alloderm is not being used for soft tissue reinforcement, so 15777 does not describe the work performed, in my opinion. I do not code anything additional when products are placed to prevent potential future adhesions. If there is a CPT I am unaware of that would better describe the Alloderm use in this scenario, I would gladly start using it. An alternative could be modifier -22 on the primary procedure
IF the documentation supports additional work/time/complexity. I don't think I've ever seen such an operative report.
Both Aetna and Cigna state the situations in which Alloderm placement is a covered procedure, and during a hysterectomy to prevent potential future adhesions is not listed as covered.
