Mastering CPT® Coding for Stent Placement: Rules, Criteria, and Scenarios

This webinar will feature a discussion of the CPT® coding rules for the different types of stent placement. Specifically, the following CPT® codes will be covered: 37215 - 37218, 37221, 37226, 37227, 37230, 37231, 37236 – 37238, 61635, 0075T and 0076T. Additionally, the criteria that must be met for reporting diagnostic angiography codes in conjunction with stent codes will be discussed. Mini coding scenarios will be utilized for each procedure to illustrate the coding concepts that are discussed.

Interventional radiology coding is a very complex specialty to code and stenting is one of the most common procedures performed. Therefore, it is important to understand the differences in the CPT® coding rules for each type of stent placement to ensure accurate coding and billing.

What’s the presenter's background/expertise on this topic?
Stacie is a nationally recognized subject matter expert on interventional radiology coding. She has 16 years’ experience in interventional radiology coding, auditing and education experience. She is the author of the book Cracking the IR Code: Your Comprehensive Guide to Mastering Interventional Radiology Coding and created an online course to assist coders in learning interventional radiology coding and successfully pass the CIRCC exam.

Stacie has over 29 years’ experience in the health care industry. During her career she served as an internal auditor and corporate compliance officer for one of the nation’s largest providers of diagnostic imaging services. Additionally, she served as Vice President and Consultant for a radiology consulting firm and radiology billing company. Stacie has served in a consulting capacity for 20 years and she is a nationally sought out speaker who has presented well over 200 seminars. She has also authored articles on radiology coding and reimbursement topics for AAPC Healthcare Business Monthly, Journal of AHIMA and the Radiology Management: The Journal of AHRA. In addition, she has served on the editorial advisory board of several national radiology publications.

Stacie is a member of the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA), American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and the Florida Health Information Management Association (FHIMA)

Stacie’s contributions to her profession have been recognized by her peers through several awards: FHIMA Distinguished Member Award, FHIMA Outstanding Professional Award, FHIMA Distinguished Service Award, FHIMA Literary Award, AHIMA Triumph Rising Star Award and the AHIMA Triumph Mentor Award.

Stacie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management and prior earned an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration.
