Hi, provider aspirated a cyst within the supraspinatus tendon. There is no mention if it is a ganglion. Can this be billed with 20612? 10160 is only for skin and subcutaneous tissue cyst, so would not be accurate.
What is the correct procedure code?

Thanks in advance

20612 is essentially for any cystic lesion. Ganglion is a casual term and has essentially no formal meaning. A "ganglion" can be within subcutaneous tissue, or muscle, or tendon, and can arise from a joint, a tendon sheath, a bursa, etc. Code is the same.
If guidance was used, 20612 does not include ultrasound and that can be separately billed.
