New
I am looking to see if anyone has more information on the new genetic counseling code 96041. The NSGC has a video stating when to use this code, but the CPT book gives very minimal information. One of the key factors that has been eliminated is face to face. Here is a list of what I understand can be included for billing on the day that the patient is seen.
1. Preparing to see the patient such as reviewing records, but it has to be done on the same day as the visit with the patient.
2. Care coordination such as contacting labs, reaching out to other physicians, reaching out to insurance for authorization.
I understand it to be what I did or will do for the patient after the appointment on the same day.
I have been looking for more information to back up what I believe to be the definition of the new code. The CPT book is very limited.
Thank you
